Why Our Wachtelhunds?

Our Wachtels have excellent health, intelligence, and guaranteed hunting drive.

We breed only one litter per year and our Wachtels are special to us.

We only breed Wachtelhunds having hips and elbows OFA certified free of dysplasia and will not breed any dogs having hips rated less than good.

We are not a puppy mill and we don't have a kennel full of female dogs.

We have only one breeding female at a time and will only breed her four possibly five times.

All of our pups receive the following:

A written health guarantee up to 7 years of age

                          They come with DWNA registrations

We never want our owners to lose their Wachtels, so our pups come micro-chipped and  have their ears tattooed

     A slight tail docking

     Social conditioning

First immunization shots, worming only if necessary (out of 8 litters we've never had to de-worm any of our pups)

Now our Wachtelhunds

Pulas was an excellent retriever and blood trailer.  Unfortunately, Pulas had an accident with an auto and was killed before he was 2 1/2 years old.  His blood line will live on through frozen semen.  His semen has been used to breed three litters and stored semen is sufficient for several more breedings.

Axel Vom Flint Hills Wachtelhund at 4 years of age - Wachtelhund

Wachtelhund - Axel Vom Flint Hills

     Born - 09/26/2000

     UKC registration # R143-529

Axel is a second generation offspring from Nixe and Whischo.  I obtained Axel in January 2004.  He had not been trained or hunted much.  With in a year, he came on strong  working before the gun, retrieving, and blood trailing as all Wachtelhunds should do.  Axel will not be bred and has been neutered.  He is a little short in the leg for a male to meet the breed standards.  Standards are everything to us.  Other than this one fault he is a great hunting companion.
